On April 6th, the International Exchange Office hosted the “International Exchange World Cafe,” where attendees enjoyed interacting with various languages, including English, Korean, Vietnamese, and Chinese.
Approximately 30 students and international student staff members participated in the preparations for this event, held in the student cafeteria, from early in the morning. Many freshmen interested in languages and studying abroad also attended, creating a lively atmosphere throughout the event. The event fostered diverse international exchanges, with attendees freely chatting in their preferred languages, hearing from seniors with study abroad experience about life and learning abroad, and hearing from international students about their universities.
Attendees could also freely discuss concerns and anxieties about studying abroad, life overseas, and tips for language learning, all while enjoying snacks and light meals from various countries.
Aiki Yamasato, a first-year student in the Department of International Communication, majored in Chinese in high school and showcased her Chinese skills at the event. She smiled and said, “It’s so much fun to participate in a university-style event like this.” Haruna Nakayoshi, also a first-year student, expressed her enthusiasm, saying, “I’m studying Korean on my own, but I want to study it properly at university. I want to work hard during my university life with the goal of studying abroad.”
The “International Exchange World Cafe” is open until 4 PM today (April 6th).
